While not an exact representation of each of the phases, we like that it’s an imperfect & abstract interpretation of the waxing & waning (when the moon reaches “fullness” it begins waning & getting smaller, then when there is no moon or a “new moon” it begins waxing, making it appear larger to us) that takes place during the lunar cycle!
