SH Runway Recap | S.Nine by Susanna Soo SS17
Held at the Tesla showroom in Xujiahui, the space was a nice change from the hustle of shows held at Xintiandi. The small-scale event had a feeling of exclusivity, as everyone in attendance was greeted personally, offered refreshments & shown to their seats.
Susanna Soo’s Spring preview show was filled with pretty, girlish pieces, all having the quality of any ready to wear collection. However, as refreshing as it is to see designs that are relatable, the show left us wishing the designer had given us a little more. While there was evidence of thought & attention to detail, as we noticed quite a few trends of the upcoming season (stripes, shoulder cut-outs, sleeve slits, ruffles, etc), we were still craving something a bit more exciting. Our favorite piece from the show was the metallic dress. It was a mix between edgy & feminine & could be very versatile with some creative styling!
That said, we’re definitely interested to see what Susanna Soo will bring us in the seasons to come!
