Client Restoration

I always encourage my clients not to simply write off old clothes w/out 1st brainstorming how they could be redesigned into more flattering or current styles.

While working w/ Michelle, she expressed that she’s held on to so many pieces over the years just for the sake of “maybe” wearing it again rather than “definitely”, so we decided to get creative!

This bridesmaid’s dress has a very classic silhouette that could easily be worn again. However, the bow made it feel too wedding-y & we were going more for something she could wear out on date night.

We removed the bow, widened the straps, & tapered the bottom. In doing so, we’ve made a dress that was more flattering to her figure. The wider straps offer more support & balance to her frame. Also, by bringing the bottom half into a pencil silhouette, we’ve created curves she never knew she had: taking the dress from frumpy to fiery!

This leather pencil skirt; a hand-me-down from her mom that made it’s way to the back of the closet due to fit issues.

To combat the smaller size– we chopped a bit off the top, fitting it properly around the waist. In doing so, the hem shifted to above the knee, which gave the skirt a younger, sportier vibe. The result: A versatile, classic, A-line leather skirt that can be worn to the office or on casual weekend outings!

It’s never too late to purge your closet, but always keep an eye out for the hidden gems- you may find that you already have all the tools you need to breathe new life into old pieces.
